We are a well-established, family-run food wholesale business supplying dairy, fresh fruit and vegetables, and frozen products to catering customers across Dorset. We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Prep Room Assistant to join our busy early morning team.
This is a hands-on role that combines fresh produce preparation with general warehouse duties, helping to ensure our customers receive high-quality products and on-time deliveries every day.
Working Hours
4:00am to 12:00 noon
5 days per week, working between Monday and Saturday - 37.5 hours per week
Perfect for early risers who enjoy having their afternoons and evenings free.
Key Responsibilities
Prep Room Duties:
- Fresh Produce Preparation
- Preparing fresh fruit and vegetables to customer specifications
- Using knives safely and confidently to prepare produce
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety
- Ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation of prepared products
- Manual handling of products and containers up to 25kg
Warehouse Duties
- Picking and packing customer orders accurately
- Assisting with general warehouse operations
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Supporting colleagues to ensure orders are completed on time

Essential Requirements
- Experience preparing fresh fruit and vegetables in a busy kitchen, catering, or food production environment
- Confident and safe knife skills
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual lifting and prolonged periods of standing
- Comfortable working in a chilled environment with temperatures between 0°C and 5°C
- Reliable, punctual, and able to start work at 4:00am
- Flexibility to provide holiday cover for the evening preparation shift (6:00pm to 2:00am) when required
