The Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you'll play a key role in supporting children and young people in their day-to-day lives, helping them feel safe, valued and supported within a caring home environment.
Working as part of a dedicated team, you'll build positive relationships with young people, support them with education, hobbies and daily routines, and help them develop the skills and confidence needed to thrive.
No two days are the same. One day you may be supporting a young person to attend school, helping them work towards personal goals or taking part in activities within the community. The next, you may be providing emotional support during a difficult time or celebrating an important achievement.
This is an opportunity to be more than just a support worker. You'll become a trusted adult, positive role model and consistent source of encouragement, helping young people build resilience, confidence and brighter futures.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing high-quality care and support to children and young people
- Building positive, trusting and professional relationships
- Supporting young people with daily routines, education and appointments
- Encouraging participation in hobbies, interests and community activities
- Providing emotional support and guidance during challenging situations
- Promoting independence, life skills and personal development
- Supporting children and young people to achieve their individual goals
- Completing accurate records, reports and daily documentation
- Undertaking keyworker responsibilities and direct work sessions
- Maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming home environment
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals
- Acting as a positive role model and encouraging positive behaviour and decision-making

Essential
- Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals in a support, care or residential setting
- Ability to work on a rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Experience supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs
- Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and therapeutic care
