Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide essential assistance and guidance to individuals in need. The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment, particularly working with children and young people. The Support Worker will be responsible for delivering tailored support that promotes independence, confidence, and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Offer personalised support to children and young people, encouraging their development and confidence.
- Engage in mentoring activities to promote positive behaviour and social skills.
- Assist with daily routines, including organising activities, educational tasks, and recreational outings.
- Support behavioural management strategies in line with organisational policies.
- Collaborate with families, carers, and other professionals to ensure consistent care approaches.
- Facilitate learning opportunities through teaching basic life skills and educational activities.
- Maintain accurate records of support provided and progress made.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines at all times.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or young people is highly desirable.
- Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Knowledge of teaching methods suitable for different age groups and abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support others’ development.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications or training in childcare, education, or social care are advantageous but not essential.
