We’re looking for a coffee professional who enjoys working with people, sharing knowledge and getting out on the road.
As our Customer Delivery & Coffee Trainer, you’ll combine regular coffee deliveries with foundation-level barista training and practical customer support. Around three days each week will typically focus on deliveries, with two days dedicated to training and customer visits, although the balance will flex according to demand.
You’ll be one of the most familiar faces our customers see. You’ll deliver their coffee reliably, build positive relationships and offer practical advice that helps their teams serve consistently great coffee.
Working closely with our Account Managers, you’ll support them and customers by spotting concerns, sharing customer feedback and making sure the right internal team has the information needed to provide further support.
What you’ll be doing
- Deliver coffee, equipment and other customer orders safely, accurately and on time.
- Plan efficient routes and communicate clearly about delays, access issues or delivery concerns.
- Load, secure and unload products carefully, following safe manual-handling practices.
- Carry out vehicle checks and maintain accurate delivery, mileage and vehicle records.
- Deliver engaging foundation-level barista training at customer sites and Extract training spaces.
- Coach customer teams in espresso preparation, grinder adjustment, milk steaming, drink building, workflow, cleaning and daily equipment care.
- Adapt your training and communication to different customers, teams and levels of experience.
- Carry out basic coffee-quality checks and provide practical, on-the-spot coaching.
- Build trusted customer relationships and answer routine questions about coffee, storage, cleaning and good barista practice.
- Encourage efficient workflows and help customers understand what affects coffee quality and consistency.
- Listen to customer feedback, identify quality, equipment, training or service concerns, and pass them promptly to the Account Manager or appropriate team.
- Keep customer visits, training outcomes and follow-up actions accurately recorded.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working within specialty coffee.
- Strong barista skills and good knowledge of espresso preparation, grinder adjustment and milk steaming.
- Practical hospitality or foodservice experience.
- Confidence delivering foundation-level coffee coaching or training.
- A warm, clear and supportive communication style.
- Strong customer-service and relationship-building skills.
- Good judgement and the confidence to raise concerns or ask for support.
- A reliable, organised and adaptable approach to field-based work.
- The physical ability to complete regular loading, unloading and delivery duties.
- Confidence using digital systems to record customer, delivery and training activity.
- Confident driving a large van or similar commercial vehicle safely in urban areas, on motorways and at customer sites.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the region.
A bonus if you have:
- Previous professional driving or delivery experience
- Experience working for a coffee roaster, supplier or hospitality wholesaler
- A recognised coffee qualification or previous delivery experience.
