Our focus is exceptional baked goods, thoughtful hospitality, expertly brewed coffee, and a seasonal brunch and lunch menu built around the very best local seasonal produce. From slow-fermented sourdoughs and baked goods to fresh sandwiches, seasonal plates, and comforting café classics, everything will be made with care, ambition and attention to detail.

The Role

Hours: 40hrs per week
Holiday: 28 days inc. bank holidays
We are looking for a skilled, passionate, and high-energy Artisan Baker to join us at the very beginning of our journey and help shape the future of the bakery as we grow towards success and industry recognition.
This is more than a production role — you will be a key part of our founding team, playing an integral role in the heart of the bakehouse while helping define our products, standards, and culture from day one.
You will be responsible for:
- Daily Craft Excellence: Producing a premium range of hand-crafted sourdoughs, speciality breads, pastries, cakes, and seasonal bakes to an exceptional and consistent standard, with great attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Early Mornings: Managing early morning production to ensure products are prepared and ready for service, while maintaining efficient preparation and mise en place for the following day.
- Product Development & Innovation: Working closely with the founder, Tiggy, to develop seasonal recipes, creative new products, and signature bakes that reflect the vision and identity of the bakery.
- Food Safety: Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen organisation, ensuring all ingredients, products, and records are clearly labelled, stored, and managed correctly.
- Kitchen Cleanliness: Taking pride in maintaining a clean, organised, and well-run bakery environment.
- Stock Control & Ordering: Managing ingredient ordering, stock rotation, and production planning efficiently to minimise waste and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Business Growth & Development: Contributing ideas to improve systems, workflow, efficiency and production as the bakery grows and evolves.
- Team Leadership & Support: Supporting, training, and motivating junior and trainee team members, helping to foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing kitchen culture.
- Quality & Award-Level Standards: Consistently maintaining the exceptional standards, creativity, and attention to detail required to establish the bakery as a recognised destination for artisan baking
Qualities we are looking for:
· A strong understanding of the science and craft of baking, supported by either a formal qualification or at least 3 years’ experience in artisan baking environments.
· Confident leading within a fast-paced and evolving bakery environment, with the ambition to play a key role as part of the founding team of a growing business.
· Passionate and enthusiastic about quality ingredients, seasonal & local produce, delicious food, recipe development, and thoughtful baking.
· Experienced in experimenting with different ingredients, flours, techniques, flavours, and processes, with an interest in modern artisan baking, and the latest trends.
· Positive, hands-on, and collaborative, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to support the wider team wherever needed.
· Understands the commitment, early mornings, and consistency required within a bakery environment, and thrives under pressure in a team-driven setting.
· Organised and able to manage prep, production schedules, and day-to-day bakery operations efficiently while maintaining high standards and attention to detail.
