Overview:
We are a family run independent cafe, set under the cliffs on Waterside on the beautiful River Nidd. We are currently seeking a weekend Kitchen Porter/ Kitchen assistant to join our team. As a kitchen assistant you will play a crucial role in supporting our small team In an our extremely busy kitchen. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for kitchen work and wanting to grow in a fast moving environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with food preparation and cooking under the guidance of our chef
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
- Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment
- Ensure proper storage of food items and supplies
- Dispose of waste and recycling materials
- Follow all health and safety regulations in the kitchen
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow
Experience:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality setting is preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team
