Kitchen Manager - School Catering
Location: Hull
Contract: Fixed Term until November 2027
Hours: 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7am-3pm
Salary: £16.16 per hour (PAYE)
Term Time Only: 39 weeks per year + 5.6 weeks paid holiday
Our client is looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee a busy school catering operation in Hull.
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong catering and team management experience looking for a stable, term-time position with sociable Monday to Friday hours.
The Role
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring a high-quality catering service is delivered while managing and motivating the team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing and supporting the catering team
- Ensuring menus, recipes and presentation standards are followed
- Maintaining excellent food quality and customer service
- Liaising with clients and gathering feedback
- Managing stock and approved suppliers
- Training, inducting and developing team members
- Ensuring food hygiene, Health & Safety and safeguarding procedures are followed
Requirements
- Previous catering management or team leader experience
- Food industry experience and/or relevant qualifications
- Strong knowledge of catering service delivery
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Good IT skills
- Understanding of safeguarding requirements
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification, ideally IOSH
- Cashless catering system experience desirable
An Enhanced DBS including a Child Barred List check will be required before starting.
