Role Summary
In this role, you will support the Programme Manager for surveys in overseeing the planning and execution of survey related activity and enabling works.
You will coordinate with multiple stakeholders and manage project teams, including technical disciplines such as Engineering and Environment subject matter experts, Land and Property specialists, and a complex supply chain network, while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
You will be fundamental to the successful delivery of surveys which are critical to developing and refining our design as well as informing our Development Consent Order (DCO).
Function
This role sits within the Delivery function, supporting the safe and effective delivery of survey and enabling works across the programme.
What you will do:
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules and budgets for survey works.
- Coordinate and manage consultants, contractors and project teams to ensure the safe delivery of site surveys.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to address potential issues.
- Provide effective requirements management, including prioritisation, business case and benefits management.
- Lead interface management with Network Rail and other statutory bodies, designers, the supply chain, Land and Property, Health and Safety, Communications and Digital Engineering.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, safety protocols and environmental requirements during site works.
- Administer NEC contracts, ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
- Develop and manage procurement strategies.
- Prepare and present progress reports, updates and project documentation to the Programme Manager and other stakeholders.
- Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment and materials, to optimise efficiency and productivity.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among all parties involved in site works.
- Assess the impact of change and develop and implement change management strategies and plans where required.
What you will bring:
Essential Criteria
- Significant experience as project manager, with a focus on survey and enabling works and/or infrastructure projects.
- Experience of survey programmes, including environmental, ground investigation and engineering surveys.
- Familiarity with how enabling works are delivered.
- Skilled in NEC contract management and working with contractors.
- Knowledge of Network Rail and relevant UK rail industry legislation and standards.
- A background in project management methodologies (APM, Prince2 or equivalent experience), tools and software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
