Job function
Reporting to the HR Manager, this exciting new role is for a enthusiastic and motivated HR Support Apprentice to join our growing People/HR team in Solihull.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone starting their career in Human Resources who is keen to gain practical, hands-on experience while working towards a Level 3 HR Support apprenticeship qualification.
You will work closely with experienced members of the HR team, supporting the day-to-day delivery of HR services across the business. You will develop a broad understanding of the employee lifecycle, HR administration, recruitment, employee engagement, policies and procedures, and HR systems.
The role will combine workplace learning with formal apprenticeship study, giving you the opportunity to develop both your practical HR skills and your professional knowledge.
Specific responsibilities
The following outlines the primary areas of responsibility. Additional responsibilities or functions may be required as necessary to support the business.
As an HR Support Apprentice, you will:
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the HR team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR systems.
- Assist with the onboarding and offboarding of employees.
- Support recruitment activities, including arranging interviews, preparing documentation and maintaining candidate records.
- Assist with the preparation of new starter documentation and contracts.
- Respond to routine HR queries and escalate more complex matters appropriately.
- Support absence, holiday and other employee record administration.
- Assist with HR reports, spreadsheets and data analysis.
- Help ensure HR records and processes are maintained accurately and confidentially.
- Support the organisation of meetings, training and employee engagement activities.
- Assist with the administration of performance management and employee development processes.
- Support the HR team with company policies, procedures and internal communications.
- Gain exposure to employee relations processes, including disciplinary, grievance and absence procedures, under appropriate supervision.
- Assist with HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with managers and colleagues across the business.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information professionally.
- Undertake apprenticeship learning, assessments and development activities as required.

Previous HR experience is not required. We are looking for the right attitude, potential and willingness to learn.
Applicants should meet the eligibility requirements for the Level 3 HR Support apprenticeship.
You should also have a good standard of written and verbal communication and be comfortable using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.

Pay: £18,000.00-£19,000.00 per year
