Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management and financial oversight on large-scale construction projects. This pivotal role involves managing all aspects of cost control, budgeting, and contractual negotiations to ensure projects are delivered within scope, time, and budget. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will collaborate closely with project teams, clients, and suppliers to optimize financial performance and drive successful project outcomes. Your expertise will help shape the financial integrity of our projects while fostering a culture of transparency, accuracy, and proactive problem-solving.
Duties
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates and budgets for construction projects from inception through completion
- Monitor project costs continuously, ensuring adherence to budgets through effective cost control measures
- Prepare and negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure favorable terms
- Conduct regular financial reviews and variance analysis to identify potential overruns or savings opportunities
- Collaborate with project managers to forecast cash flow requirements and manage payment schedules
- Oversee procurement processes, including tendering, bid evaluation, and contract award procedures
- Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions, contractual amendments, and project documentation
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in Civil Engineering , Groundworks & Rc Frames cost control within the construction industry
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent negotiation skills with a clear understanding of contractual terms and conditions
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and develop actionable insights
- Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams
- Relevant professional qualification such as RICS accreditation or equivalent is preferred
- Ability to work proactively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
