At Let's Do Business Finance, we help start-ups and small businesses access responsible finance. We're looking for a motivated Trainee Lending Manager to join our team and develop the skills, knowledge and experience needed to progress into a Lending Manager role.
This fast-track opportunity would suit someone with strong numerical ability, a genuine interest in business finance and the ambition to build a career in lending and relationship management.
About the role
As a Trainee Lending Manager, you'll support the assessment and progression of Start Up Loan applications while developing skills in financial analysis, credit assessment and customer relationship management.
Through structured training, coaching and hands-on experience, you'll learn how to assess lending opportunities, prepare recommendations and manage cases with increasing independence.
What you'll be learning and doing
· Support the assessment of Start Up Loan applications in line with lending policies and scheme requirements.
· Review business plans, forecasts, financial information and supporting documentation.
· Assist with affordability, viability and repayment capacity assessments.
· Support the preparation of credit reports and lending recommendations.
· Communicate with applicants and help progress applications efficiently.
· Complete due diligence, compliance and identity checks.
· Maintain accurate CRM records and case documentation.
· Participate in training covering financial analysis, credit assessment and responsible lending.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone with potential, curiosity and a genuine interest in lending and business finance.
You'll ideally have:
· Strong numerical and analytical skills.
· An interest in lending, business finance or financial services.
· The ability to understand and interpret financial information.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
· A professional and customer-focused approach.
· Confidence using Microsoft Office and related systems.
· The motivation to learn, develop and build credit judgement over time.
This role may particularly suit a graduate in business, finance, accounting, economics or a related subject, or someone with early experience in banking, finance, customer service, credit control, business support or administration.
