Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Plumbers Mate to support our plumbing team on various commercial and residential projects. The successful candidate will assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to high standards. This role offers valuable hands-on experience in the plumbing trade, with opportunities to develop technical skills and knowledge of mechanical systems. Duties
- Assist qualified plumbers in installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems.
- Handle a variety of hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively.
- Support with welding tasks where necessary, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and fit pipes and fixtures using carpentry and assembly skills.
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment to facilitate installation work.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues within plumbing systems using basic math and technical knowledge.
- Support with the use of welding equipment for pipe fitting or repairs when required.
- Drive company vehicles for material transportation or site visits as authorised (commercial driving experience beneficial).
Experience
- Previous experience or training in plumbing or related trades is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is key.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and basic carpentry enhances suitability for this role.
- Mechanical knowledge or understanding of plumbing systems is desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to pipe fitting and system installation.
