This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage with local producers and customers, promoting Jamaican-inspired Great Taste Award Winning Sauces across all our bustling London Farmers Market weekend sites. Successful candidates will be passionate about food, community engagement, and providing excellent customer service. Bilingual skills are highly desirable to assist a diverse clientele and enhance the shopping experience. This paid position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their sales, marketing, and communication skills within a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly, offer free samples and provide information about Sauces and Marinades available at the market
- Assist customers with their purchases, answer questions, and offer recommendations
- Promote special offers to encourage sales and maximise market visibility
- Support local vendors by helping set up/break down stalls and ensuring displays are attractive and organised
- Manage cash transactions accurately and handle card payments efficiently
- Engage with visitors to promote the market’s community initiatives and events
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the stall area throughout the day
- Collect feedback from customers to help improve market services and offerings
Skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently and boosting brand loyalty by making every customer feel valued
- Strong customer service orientation, demonstrating friendliness and professionalism at all times
- Basic marketing knowledge to effectively promote Jamaican-inspired sauces and marinades
- Bilingual abilities are advantageous for assisting a multicultural clientele
- Organisational skills to manage stock levels and keep the stall tidy throughout trading hours
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a lively outdoor setting
- Flexibility to work weekends or during peak market hours as required
