The role:
As our Junior Photographer, you will work within the Studio Team following the set style guides across the Widdop and Co. brand portfolio. This will involve shooting e-commerce cut out photography across all brands and effectively undertaking bespoke briefs for our National Account customers.
You will work as part of a collaborative team bringing creative ideas to the table, enjoy working at a fast pace and remain organized to complete tasks ahead of the deadline. The role comes with the opportunity to assist with creative shoots and eventually take on some of the smaller creative projects.
You may be required to assist on location shoots or attend any outsourced agency shoots. This role will also involve some photography admin including resizing/recoding images to suit the needs of our customers. This is an on-site role and you will be required to be in the studio five days a week.
Key responsibilities:
- Working with the Photography Manager to develop and deliver still life e-commerce photography across all brands
- Achieve daily shoot targets and work to deadlines
- Prepping samples, ensuring products are ready to shoot
- Correcting images, matching colour and converting color
- Creating paths, layer masking, image retouch and use Photoshop Actions.
- Following and helping to influence set style guides across various brands, updating them seasonally
- Liaising with external editors and agencies on imagery amends and shoot planning
- Retouching imagery using Photoshop and Lightroom, adhering to the Photography Style Guides
- Maintaining quality and size consistency across product images and ensuring colors correctly match products
- Continually seek out new ways of working and actively strive to increase industry knowledge by developing ideas and exploring new photography techniques
- Use Monday.com to manage workload and tasks, including time tracking
- Maintain general tidiness of the studio and equipment
- Regularly update your line manager on the project status’s
- Partake in weekly team meetings, reporting on project status, raising issues and wins
- Agile working when required during busy periods
- Ordering or chasing up any missing samples
- Film simple videos and edit using Adobe Premiere Pro
- Uploading images to the internal systems, spotting and adjusting any needed changes before launch.
About you:
- 1+ years of Studio still-life experience
- Excellent knowledge of Nikon, Canon or Sony Camera systems
- Experience in setting up studio lighting for both Ecom and creative shoots
- Proficient using Capture One, Lightroom and Photoshop for retouching
- Competent using Microsoft Office
- Mac and PC literate
- A keen interest in Photography, Ecom, Content & Marketing
- Obsessive eye for detail and strong understanding of brand guidelines
- Able to prioritize, multi-task and manage projects well
- Good communication skills are required
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management and the ability to cope with the pressure of meeting tight deadlines
- A can do attitude is essential, must be prepared to join the team in getting their hands dirty, setting up, unpacking etc.
