Electrical Inspection & Testing Engineer (Luxury Hotel Development)
Location: London
Contract Length: 4 Weeks (Initially) - Immediate Start
Rate: up to £525.00 per day – for 12 hours – 7 days a week including weekends available. (Dependant on experience and technical proficiency)
Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Electrical Inspection & Testing Engineer to join the team for a prestigious new luxury hotel development in central London. This project demands the highest standards of technical excellence and an uncompromising eye for detail to ensure the safety and functionality of a world-class hospitality environment.
This role is critical to the final handover of the project. Candidates must demonstrate a "right first time" mentality and a deep respect for the architectural finishes of a luxury environment.
Responsibilities:
Initial verification & periodic inspection: Conduct comprehensive inspection and testing of new electrical installations across guest suites, high-end communal areas and complex plant rooms.
Certification: Produce accurate, high-quality Electrical Installation Certificates (EIC) and Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) using industry-standard software.
Compliance: Ensure all electrical works meet BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and specific luxury project specifications.
Fault finding: Identify, document and oversee the rectification of any deviations or defects within electrical systems.
Collaboration: Work closely with the project management team and specialist MEP contractors to maintain the development schedule without compromising on quality.
Requirement & Qualifications:
Qualifications: Must be fully qualified with City & Guilds 2391 (or 2394/2395) in inspection and testing.
Certification: Gold JIB/ECS card holder.
Experience: Proven track record of working on luxury high-end projects (e.g. 5-star hotels, high-end residential or Grade I/II listed refurbishments).
Technical knowledge: Deep understanding of the latest IET Wiring Regulations and the nuances of high specification lighting control systems (e.g. Lutron, Crestron, Schneider or Helvar).
Professionalism: Exceptional communication skills and a polished approach suitable for a premium development site.
