This is a varied and hands-on leadership role within the Production team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Cold Store, Product Mixing and Operations Support functions, ensuring the efficient flow, storage and dispatch of products. Working closely with Production, Planning, Technical and Logistics teams, you will play a key role in maintaining stock accuracy, service levels and operational efficiency, whilst leading and developing a multi-skilled team and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety and quality standards.
Key duties include:
- Managing a team of approximately 15 employees across Cold Store, Product Mixing and Operations Support/Gatehouse functions.
- Managing rotas, holidays, overtime and labour costs to ensure efficient department performance.
- Ensuring all temperature records, stock movements and departmental paperwork are completed accurately.
- Monitoring product throughput, stock control, vehicle bookings and dispatch activities.
- Coordinating inbound and outbound logistics to maintain service levels and product availability.
- Managing frozen fruit, fruit preparation and ingredient stocks, including ordering and stock rotation.
- Overseeing the receipt, storage and stock control of all incoming deliveries.
- Ensuring accurate stock management through AS400 and CMS systems.
- Working closely with Production, Technical and Logistics teams to maintain stock accuracy and product availability.
- Leading monthly stocktakes and investigating any stock discrepancies.
- Promoting high standards of Health & Safety, housekeeping and operational efficiency.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous supervisory or management experience.
- Demonstrates strong organisational and planning skills.
- Has experience of stock control and warehouse operations.
- Is confident managing people, rotas and performance.
- Has good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Can communicate effectively across departments.
- Is computer literate and comfortable working with stock management systems.
- Can work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Location
The role is based full time ( 40h) in Oldford, Frome.
