Buttercups Day Nursery are seeking a dedicated deputy manager to join our team. The deputy will support the nursery manager in overseeing the daily operations, ensuring a nurturing environment for all children. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the children's lives.
The position is full time all year round, 42.5 hours per week - Monday - Friday.
Minimum age of 22 years old is required for this position as you will be assisting with the school wrap arounds. Clean UK Driving licence is essential.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Nursery Manager in supervising daily nursery activities, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained.
- Support the planning and implementation of engaging, age-appropriate learning activities that stimulate development across all areas.
- Lead and motivate a team of childcare practitioners, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to foster professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and safeguarding policies to create a secure environment for children and staff.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, offering updates on children’s progress and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Assist with staff rota scheduling, training sessions, and maintaining accurate records of attendance and developmental milestones.
- Promote a positive team culture that values teamwork, continuous improvement, and open communication.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood education setting.
- Demonstrated management or leadership skills within a childcare environment.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and childcare best practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues.
- Relevant childcare qualifications such as Level 3 Childcare.
- Valid driving license is essential to support transportation needs.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to multitask effectively in a lively nursery setting.
Pay: £33,341.25 per year
