Overview
Eilean Donan Castle is one of the busiest Visitor Attractions in the Scottish Highlands. We are seeking two friendly and enthusiastic Retail Sales Assistants to join our team for the busy summer tourist season through until October.
This role involves providing excellent customer service in both our Gift Shop and Food Hall, assisting with product display and organisation, and supporting the overall store operations.
The ideal candidates will have a passion for customer service, along with strong communication skills in English. Previous experience in retail or merchandising is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop organisational skills and gain valuable experience in a vibrant retail environment.
Accommodation is also available for the right candidates.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their enquiries.
- Provide expert advice on giftware, food and drink, and related merchandise to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Maintain attractive product displays and organise stock to ensure a welcoming shopping environment
- Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
- Support stock replenishment and inventory management to ensure product availability
- Assist in merchandising activities to promote seasonal or promotional items effectively
- Keep the store clean, tidy, and well-organised throughout the day
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations
Skills
- Excellent communication skills in English is essential.
- Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Knowledge of the tourist industry, giftware and Food & Drink is beneficial but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly approach towards customers
- Ability to work well within a team and independently when required
- Basic merchandising skills to display products attractively
- Multilingual abilities are considered an advantage for engaging with a diverse customer base

Pay: £15.30 per hour
