Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality beverages, maintaining cleanliness standards, and ensuring a positive experience for every guest. Previous experience in a similar setting is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food safety, beverage preparation, and customer engagement within a dynamic environment.
Duties
RESPONSIBILTIES Beverage Preparation: Grind, brew, and serve high-quality espresso-based drinks, teas, and cold beverages.
Greet guests warmly, answer menu questions, and provide thoughtful recommendations.
Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, handle card payments, and manage order queues.
Food Handling: Prepare and serve light food items like pastries, cakes, and sandwiches.
Equipment Maintenance: Dial-in espresso machines daily, clean steam wands, and report technical malfunctions.
Cleanliness & Hygiene: Maintain a sanitized workstation, clear customer tables, and strictly follow food safety rules.
Inventory Control: Restock coffee beans, syrups, cups, and lids while monitoring expiration dates
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is desirable.
- Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment is advantageous.
- Basic food preparation skills are beneficial for handling ingredients and maintaining product quality.
- Good basic maths skills to handle transactions accurately.
- Strong time management abilities to prioritise tasks efficiently during busy periods.
- Empathy, attention to detail, and a genuine desire to brighten someone's day are the true essentials for a standout barista. While technical skills can be taught, a caring attitude transforms a routine coffee order into a meaningful human connection.
