Job description:-
We are recruiting for a delivery driver at our Milton Keynes branch. The van driver is critical to our business and requires someone who is professional and punctual. The person in this role will meet many customers face to face, either at their own premises or on site. Due to this it is vital the person is friendly, approachable and helpful.
A dedication to providing high quality service is a must in this role. Knowledge of the building or electrical industry would be beneficial but is not essential, as is a demonstration of experience in a driving role.
The majority of our deliveries are within an hour of Milton Keynes, but we regularly do deliveries further away along with distributing products throughout our branches. When not out on deliveries, the right candidate will be expected to support the branch team with picking and checking orders, and undertaking any other duties to ensure a smooth operation.
Essentials for this role:-
- A full clean driving license held for a minimum of 3 years.
- A flexible approach to work.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and offer customers and colleagues a reliable service.
- Be able to independently plan routes as well as, where required, follow guidance on priorities from the sales team.
Daily key tasks would include:-
- Assisting with loading/un-loading the van
- Delivering to numerous customers/sites
- Inter-branch deliveries/collections
- Supplier collections
- Completing delivery sheets
- Ensuring paperwork is complete
- Assisting with route planning
- Cleaning the van when required
- Day to day vehicle checks and maintenance
