Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced AV Senior BIM Technician to join our growing design team. This role will be responsible for producing and coordinating high-quality BIM and CAD information across a range of AV and workplace technology projects.
Working closely with Project Managers, Designers, Engineers, Consultants and Installation Teams, you will help transform project requirements into accurate, practical and coordinated design solutions. You will also play an important role in supporting the development of our BIM standards, processes and digital design capabilities as Hamilton Robson continues to grow.
The successful candidate will bring strong technical knowledge of BIM and Revit, excellent attention to detail and the ability to take ownership of design deliverables across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
· Produce and coordinate detailed 2D AutoCAD and 3D Revit drawings and models for AV and workplace technology projects.
· Develop accurate, practical and buildable design solutions that meet project and client requirements.
· Coordinate BIM information with internal teams, consultants, contractors and wider project stakeholders.
· Review models and drawings, supporting clash detection and resolution using Revit, Navisworks and other relevant platforms.
· Lead the coordination and delivery of BIM design packages across multiple projects, ensuring work is completed to a high standard and within agreed deadlines.
· Contribute to the development of Revit families, templates, standards and digital workflows, identifying opportunities for automation and improved efficiency.
· Support the use of emerging technologies, including AI-assisted workflows, to improve design efficiency and quality.
· Manage project information through relevant Common Data Environments and ensure design deliverables are accurate, coordinated and delivered within agreed timescales.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
· Proven professional experience working within a BIM/Revit environment.
· Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
· Experience producing detailed technical drawings and 3D models.
· Experience working on complex projects within AV, IT, electrical, construction, engineering or specialist fit-out environments.
· Strong understanding of BIM coordination and model management.
· Experience using Navisworks for coordination and clash detection.
· Good understanding of BIM standards and processes, ideally including ISO 19650.
· Ability to interpret project requirements and develop accurate, practical design solutions.
· Experience working collaboratively with clients, consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
· Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
· Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
· Experience specifically within AV, workplace technology or specialist fit-out.
· Knowledge of Dynamo, Python, pyRevit, AutoLISP or similar automation tools.
· Experience developing Revit families, templates and BIM content.
· Experience working with Common Data Environments such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or BIM 360.
· An interest in emerging technologies, automation and AI-assisted design workflows.
· Relevant BIM, Revit or construction-related qualifications.
