The Roles
We’d love to welcome new tutors to our fun and friendly team. We’re hiring tutors to support primary or secondary school students (including GCSE or A-level preparation) in maths, English & science. Tutors may also support students preparing for grammar, private, and selective school entry exams (7+ and 11+). All tutors are welcome to choose the academic level they feel most comfortable working with.
- Location: South West & West London (SW11 Battersea, SW19 Wimbledon, TW12 Twickenham, SW1V Pimlico, W5 Ealing, SW17 Tooting, CR5 Coulsdon, W8 Kensington & Chelsea)
- Pay: £20 per hour (paid on a self-employed basis)
- Commitment: Approximately 1–4 hours per week (varies depending on the number of students you take on)
- Schedule: Typically 4pm–8pm or at weekends, face-to-face at the student’s home (for most roles)
Essential Requirements
Please read carefully- applicants must meet the following essential criteria:
- Live within 30-45 minutes of South West/West London postcodes
- Must have achieved a B at GCSE or A level in the subject you're interested in tutoring if you are applying to work with GCSE/A-level students
- The SW1V, TW12, SW17 roles include Science, as well as maths and English. Specialised tutors for each subject would be considered
- Experience working with children or young people (e.g. as a tutor, teacher, teaching assistant, etc.)
- MUST be able to prove that you have the right to work in the UK on a self-employed basis
- Access to a printer- while we provide most materials, tutors are occasionally expected to print resources
- Educated to degree level (desirable but not essential)
Responsibilities
- Provide personalised one-to-one tutoring sessions online, with their specific learning goals/needs in mind.
- Build strong rapport and maintain positive relationships with students.
- Plan fun, engaging activities and lessons that encourage active participation.
- Monitor the student’s progress and adapt your approach as needed to support their development.
- Encourage, motivate, and help students grow confidence in their abilities.
