Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team on a bank basis. This role offers flexible working hours within a care home environment, providing vital support to residents and ensuring their well-being. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and experience in senior care. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality care, supervising junior staff, and assisting with personalised care plans to meet residents' individual needs.
Duties
- Provide personalised care and support to residents in accordance with their care plans
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
- Supervise and mentor junior care staff, promoting a positive team environment
- Ensure the safety and comfort of residents at all times
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Support the implementation of care plans and contribute to their review and update
- Promote independence and dignity among residents through respectful interactions
- Assist with organising activities that enhance residents’ wellbeing and social engagement
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a senior care or care home setting is essential
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare environment is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans
- Driving licence is preferred but not mandatory; flexibility to travel if required
- Knowledge of care planning procedures and compliance standards within senior care
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in supporting older adults’ quality of life
