Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Plymouth (On-site)
Salary: £40 000- £50 000 per year + £6000 Car Allowance
Sphere solutions are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to deliver commercial management for a major redevelopment in Plymouth. You will drive financial performance, manage sub-contractor accounts, maintain budget control, and ensure contract compliance within a live site.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide financial/contractual forecasts, monitor spend against approved client budgets, and maximise cash flow.
· Prepare and review monthly cost reports, track key performance trends, and manage contract change control procedures.
· Conduct physical measurement of works and agree valuations with clients and subcontractors.
· Oversee full sub-contractor lifecycle, including enquiry issuance, tender comparison, price negotiation, order placement, and final account agreement.
· Assess and mitigate commercial risks in accordance with corporate risk management policies.
· Client facing role so good communication skills are essential.
Qualifications & Requirements
· Degree, HNC, or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a commercial discipline.
· Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor or similar role
· Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts.
· CSCS - White PQP/AQP
· Full UK Driver’s License.
· Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
· Due to the nature of the role candidates will be required to get security clearance and hold a passport from an eligible country.
