Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic School Minibus Driver to ensure the safe and reliable transportation of special needs students to and from school daily. This vital role involves operating school vehicles with professionalism, maintaining safety standards, and providing excellent communication to students, staff, and parents. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of responsibility, mechanical aptitude, and a passion for creating a positive travel experience for young learners. Operating in school term time (September - June)
D1 Licence required (for hire and reward), the applicant also requires a CPC Card, and a Tachograph Card
Duties
- Safely operate the school minibus along designated routes, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations at all times
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle’s mechanical systems, brakes, lights, tires, and other essential components to ensure optimal condition
- Assist students with additional needs boarding and disembarking the vehicle, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the journey
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance logs
- Communicate effectively with school staff and parents regarding schedules or any delays
- Perform routine maintenance tasks or report issues promptly to ensure continuous vehicle reliability
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies to uphold a secure transportation environment
Requirements
- Valid D1 license with a clean driving record suitable for commercial driving privileges
- Familiarity with school transportation is a plus, but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills in English to interact confidently with students, staff, and parents
- Demonstrated ability to drive safely in various weather conditions and traffic situations
- Ability to follow detailed routes accurately while maintaining punctuality and professionalism
