Hours: Monday to Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

About the role
Strathmore Foods is looking for a dedicated and meticulous Hygiene Operative to join our day-shift hygiene team in Forfar.
This is a vital role within our food-manufacturing operation. You will help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout our production areas, supporting our commitment to food safety, product quality and employee wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out thorough cleaning and sanitisation of food-processing equipment, machinery and production lines.
- Safely disassemble and reassemble equipment to allow effective cleaning.
- Clean and sanitise floors, walls, drains and other surfaces within production and storage areas.
- Follow all company health, safety, food-safety and hygiene procedures.
- Use cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment correctly and safely.
- Complete cleaning records, checklists and other required documentation accurately.
- Inspect cleaned areas and equipment to ensure the required hygiene standards have been achieved.
- Report equipment faults, damage or potential hygiene and food-safety risks promptly to the relevant manager.
- Work in accordance with the company’s HACCP procedures and food-safety standards.
- Work cooperatively with colleagues to ensure all cleaning duties are completed to the required standard and within the allocated timescales.
About you
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a hygiene or industrial cleaning role, preferably within food manufacturing or production.
- An understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
- Experience using cleaning chemicals safely.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- A reliable, punctual and proactive approach to work.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- The ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced food-production environment.
- A willingness to undertake additional hours when reasonably required.
