Position Purpose & Summary
We are seeking a passionate, creative, and commercially driven Event Sales & Partnerships Executive to champion the Meetings & Events business at Aloft Liverpool while positioning the hotel as a key destination within the local market. This role combines reactive event sales, proactive revenue generation, local partnership development, and innovative in-house event creation.
The Event Sales & Partnerships Executive will play a key role in elevating Aloft's profile within the city, driving Meetings & Events revenue, creating memorable guest experiences, developing valuable local partnerships, and supporting the wider sales strategy. Through a balance of reactive account management and proactive business generation, this role will help put Aloft Liverpool firmly on the map as one of the city's most exciting hospitality destinations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full Meetings & Events sales cycle, building strong community relationships, creating engaging hotel-led experiences, and generating new business opportunities to support the wider commercial strategy. This is a highly visible role that will work closely with the General Manager, Divisional Sales Director, operations teams, and national sales network to drive awareness, revenue, and market presence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Meetings & Events Sales Management (40%)
Act as the primary point of contact for all Meetings & Events enquiries, ensuring exceptional service from initial enquiry through to event delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all inbound Meetings & Events enquiries across all sales channels.
- Produce professional proposals, quotations, contracts, and event documentation.
- Create and distribute accurate Banqueting Event Orders (BEOs) and function sheets.
- Conduct venue show-rounds and client meetings
- Follow up all enquiries and quotations to maximise conversion opportunities.
- Liaise with operational departments to ensure seamless event execution.
- Conduct post-event follow-up calls and feedback reviews to encourage repeat business.
- Maintain CRM systems and sales records accurately.
- Monitor enquiry trends, conversion levels, and revenue performance.
2. Local Partnerships & Community Engagement (15%)
Develop strategic partnerships that increase awareness of Aloft within the city and generate new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build relationships with local businesses, venues, attractions, universities, sporting organisations, and community groups.
- Develop mutually beneficial promotional partnerships and referral networks.
- Attend local networking events, chamber meetings, and business forums.
- Identify opportunities to increase the hotel's visibility within the local market.
- Create partnership initiatives that drive footfall, event bookings, and overnight stays.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote local partnership activities.
- Act as an ambassador for the hotel within the city.
3. In-House Events & Revenue Generation (30%)
Drive incremental revenue through the planning, promotion, and delivery of innovative hotel-led events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a calendar of events. Create and promote experiences such as:
- Cocktail masterclasses
- Bottomless brunches
- Themed dining and social nights
- Happy hour activations
- Live music evenings
- Seasonal and festive events
- Networking events
- Brand collaborations and pop-up experiences
- Work closely with Food & Beverage teams to develop commercially successful concepts.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new event opportunities.
- Support marketing campaigns and social media activity to maximise attendance.
- Analyse event performance and profitability to continuously improve future initiatives.
4. Proactive Sales & Business Development (15%)
Proactively generate new business opportunities to increase awareness and market share for Aloft Hotel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct proactive sales calls and prospecting activities.
- Identify and qualify new corporate and agency opportunities.
- Generate leads for the National Sales Team.
- Support the Divisional Sales Director in executing strategic sales initiatives.
- Arrange sales appointments, client meetings, and hotel presentations.
- Participate in sales blitzes, networking events, and industry showcases.
- Promote the hotel's meetings, events, accommodation, and F&B offerings.
- Train and encourage hotel teams to identify and refer sales opportunities.
- Support key account development and relationship management activities.
Experience & Skills
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience within hotel sales, events, hospitality, or business development.
- Be highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Have experience managing Meetings & Events enquiries from enquiry through to delivery.
- Possess exceptional relationship-building and networking skills.
- Be confident in cold calling and proactive prospecting.
- Demonstrate creativity in developing and delivering revenue-generating events.
- Have strong commercial awareness and a results-driven mindset.
- Be a confident communicator with excellent presentation skills.
- Be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Have experience using hotel PMS, CRM, and event management systems (Opera experience advantageous).
