Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Secretary to join our professional team. The successful candidate will provide vital support to our legal professionals by managing administrative tasks, conducting analysis, and ensuring smooth office operations. Responsibilities - Main Purpose
- Provide effective support services to the Directors and fee-earners
Key Tasks
- Type work as dictated or requested by any Director or fee-earner to whom (s)he reports
- Assist in the personal organisation of fee-earners through the operation of a diary management system, including bring forward system, filing of papers etc.
- Assist in communications with clients through relaying telephone messages both incoming and outgoing and providing any assistance which is possible
- Ensure the positive representation of the firm in all dealings with clients and others
- Communicating with other solicitors and professionals and give any assistance which is possible including providing updates.
- Ensure compliance with quality control procedures and anti-money laundering regulations when working on all matters
General Duties
- Ensure that an understanding of the importance of confidentiality is applied when undertaking all duties
- Abide by the company's policies on Health & Safety and Equality & Diversity
- Perform other duties occasionally which are not included above, but which will be consistent with the role
Essential Criteria
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of the team
- Demonstrate good time management and organisation skills
- IT literate
- Experience with case management systems
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide range of people.
- Ability to plan, prioritise and organise own workload within established time scales
Other
- A willingness to undertake further training and development
- Deal with the case management of files within the department to which you are assigned
Desirable Criteria
- Law Graduate
- Some experience of working in a law
- An interest in Corporate / Commercial law
