Red Recruitment 24:7 is advertising on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business in the North Scarle area for a Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team.
This is a hands-on role focused on delivering an effective maintenance programme across the site, supporting production efficiency, and minimising downtime. If you’re proactive, technically strong, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, this could be the right move for you.
The Role
You will be responsible for supporting the engineering function through planned, predictive and reactive maintenance, ensuring plant and equipment operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned, predictive and condition-based maintenance across site
- Provide rapid response to breakdowns to minimise production downtime
- Support production teams to improve plant efficiency and reliability
- Assist with improvement projects and engineering installations
- Work closely with contractors and ensure work is completed safely and effectively
- Maintain accurate engineering logs and downtime records
- Monitor and control engineering stores and materials usage
- Support management of site services equipment
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and hygiene within engineering areas
- Ensure strong communication between shifts and engineering teams
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Adhere to Health & Safety at Work legislation
- Carry out pre-start safety checks on machinery and equipment
- Review and follow risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Challenge unsafe behaviours and promote a strong safety culture
- Ensure compliance with site policies, procedures and environmental standards
- Complete and close corrective actions within agreed timescales
Requirements
- Apprentice trained or relevant engineering qualification
- Electrical experience preferred
- Strong fault-finding skills
- Computer literate
- Able to work rotating 4 on 4 off shifts (days and nights)
