Job Title: Hygiene Operative
Overall Purpose: To ensure that all production areas, equipment, and machinery are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised to the highest possible standard, so that food can be produced safely, legally, and without contamination. Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm.

Job Description:
As a Hygiene Operative, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety within our cooked meat production facility. Working as part of the team, you will ensure all machinery, equipment, and production areas are thoroughly cleaned, sanitised, and ready for safe operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dismantle, clean, sanitise, and reassemble industrial machinery and production equipment in accordance with hygiene schedules.
- Carry out deep cleaning of all production areas, including floors, walls, drains, and contact surfaces.
- Ensure all cleaning activities meet strict food safety standards, particularly in ready-to-eat (RTE) cooked meat environments.
- Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, health and safety, and COSHH regulations at all times.
- Safely handle and use cleaning chemicals in line with COSHH guidelines, ensuring correct dilution, storage, and labelling.
- Conduct pre-operational hygiene checks in high-risk alongside a QA to verify equipment and areas meet required standards before production starts.
- Identify and report any equipment damage, maintenance issues, or hygiene risks to supervisors.
- Work in confined spaces and at height where required, following appropriate safety procedures.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as pressure washers, foam systems, and sanitation tools effectively.
- Follow colour-coded cleaning systems and segregation procedures to prevent cross-contamination between high-risk and low-risk areas.
- Maintain high personal hygiene standards, including correct use of PPE.
- Collaborate with production and technical teams to ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.
Skills and Experience:
- Good understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations and safe chemical handling.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards.

Pay: £12.86 per hour
