Rox Cars – Aldridge, Walsall
We are looking for an experienced Vehicle Smart Repair Technician / Car Polisher to join our busy vehicle preparation team.
Rox Cars is a large independent used car dealership with a high volume of vehicles passing through our preparation centre every month. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and can help us get vehicles to a high retail standard quickly and efficiently.
The Role
The role will mainly involve cosmetic paint preparation and improvement rather than major bodyshop repairs.
Day-to-day duties will include:
- Machine mopping and polishing vehicles to remove scratches, swirl marks and paint imperfections
- Touching in stone chips, scratches and minor paint damage
- Carrying out small SMART paint repairs
- Painting/blending small areas such as bumper corners where required
- Wet sanding and polishing where appropriate
- Identifying cosmetic defects that can be improved without sending the vehicle for full bodyshop repair
- Working closely with our preparation team to get vehicles retail-ready
- Maintaining a high standard of finish while working efficiently in a fast-paced environment
What We’re Looking For
Ideally, you will have previous experience as a:
SMART Repair Technician, Vehicle Polisher, Bodyshop Technician, Paint Technician, Prepper or Automotive Detailer with paint correction experience.
You should be confident using a machine polisher and have a good understanding of automotive paintwork.
Experience carrying out small paint repairs, blending or SMART repairs would be a major advantage.
We are particularly interested in someone who has a good eye for what can be improved through polishing/touch-in work rather than automatically sending every cosmetic defect for paint.
