We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Maths Teachers to work on a supply basis in secondary schools across Wrexham and the surrounding areas. Whether you are looking for flexible day-to-day supply work, short-term cover or a longer-term placement, we have opportunities to suit your availability.
As a Supply Maths Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, following work set by the school or planning your own lessons where required. You will help maintain a positive learning environment, manage classroom behaviour and support pupils in developing their confidence and understanding of mathematics.
We welcome applications from Qualified Teachers with QTS, as well as newly qualified Maths Teachers looking to gain valuable classroom experience. Applicants should have a strong knowledge of the Maths curriculum, excellent classroom management skills and a flexible, professional approach.
If you are a newly qualified teacher (NQT) or experienced maths teacher we offer roles which include delivering the curriculum in Key Stage 3 (KS3) to Key Stage 4 (KS4) with a possible work at Key Stage 5 (KS5).
As a maths teacher you’ll be expected to:
- Hold QTS status
- Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
- Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
- Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
- Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
- Maintain discipline
- Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
- Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
- Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
- Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
- Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
