Job Overview
This is not an average Area Manager role. At The Vape Escape, you will take full ownership of our highest-revenue region, leading some of the most commercially important stores in the business and being directly accountable for their continued success and growth.
We’re looking for someone with a serious track record in retail sales, team development and operational excellence — someone who thrives on accountability, leads from the front and wants to play a key role in a business that’s scaling rapidly.
About Us
The Vape Escape is a fast-growing retail business in the e-cigarette / vaping industry with major plans for continued expansion. We are building a high-performance retail operation, and we need an Area Manager who can raise standards, grow sales, and consistently deliver strong results across all stores.
The Role
You will be responsible for sales performance, operational standards, and people development across your region. You’ll set expectations, coach teams, and ensure every store delivers strong results and excellent customer experience.
This role requires someone confident, driven, and analytical — constantly reviewing figures, tracking KPIs, spotting trends, and making fast, effective decisions to improve performance.
As a business committed to helping smokers transition away from cigarettes, it is essential that all leaders within the company represent and understand this mission. For this reason, we require all staff to be active vapers and to not be cigarette smokers.
All staff are also required to complete the NHS-supported NCSCT (National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training) course to demonstrate a strong understanding of harm reduction, smoking cessation principles, and responsible customer guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster a positive organisational culture centred on teamwork, accountability, and professional development.
- Analyse daily and weekly figures, identify trends, and make decisive improvements.
- Lead and supervise teams across various locations, ensuring high levels of performance and engagement. Driving business growth and KPIs.
- Plan your week and base yourself in one store per day for focused coaching.
- Conduct monthly 1-1s, probation reviews and performance meetings.
- Lead HR case management when required.
- Manage budgets, resources, and schedules effectively to meet targets.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and efficiency.
- Submit visit reports, escalate concerns, and communicate priorities consistently.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven multi-site retail management experience
- Strong sales background with evidence of improving store performance
- Highly analytical and confident working with KPIs, data, and performance trends
- Experienced people manager with strong HR capability
- Hands-on coach who develops teams and holds staff accountable
- Clear communicator with high operational standards
