Your Role
Innovate are looking for experienced live in complex Care Professional to support an adult male with a spinal cord injury. The right candidate should be familiar with autonomic dysreflexia, manual evacuation and bowel management, catheter care, hoisting and medication administration.
As a live in care assistant, you will support our client in accessing the community and his workplace whilst helping to empower his independence. The ideal candidate should be energetic, patient and flexible with the ability to confidently maintain a safe care routine, whilst also creating an environment that promotes fun and spontaneity. You should have excellent listening skills and enjoy regular engagement through out the day together.
Clinical skills required:
- Knowledge of spinal cord injury including management of Autonomic Dysreflexia
- Bowel management
- Catheter care
- Medication administration
- Moving and handling
- Hoisting
You’ll be part of a consistent care team, supporting one client at a time in this stable, long-term role.

What We’re Looking For
- At least 12 months of complex care experience
- Knowledge of spinal cord injury including management of Autonomic Dysreflexia and experience in bowel management, catheter care and moving & handling
- Compassion, professionalism, and reliability
- Good communication skills and IT confidence
- Car driver with access to your own vehicle
- Willingness to be part of a family-centred care team
- Hold an understanding of safeguarding
- Ability to recognise deterioration in both psychological and physical health

- Do you have demonstrable knowledge of spinal cord injury including management of Autonomic Dysreflexia and experience working with clients who require bowel management and catheter care?
- Are you able to commit to Live-In Care placements, including staying overnight in the client's home and working agreed shift patterns over consecutive days/weeks?
- Can you commit to a minimum of 2 (maximum 3) in person training days? This is paid per hour and will be arranged if successful with your consultant at a date and time that suits the provision and start dates.
- Please provide a brief example of a time when you experienced a particularly challenging situation in a live-in care role and explain how you demonstrated resilience, maintained a high standard of care and continued to support the individual.
