Front of House & Barista
Café Jumo is a neighbourhood café focused on quality coffee, warm hospitality and creating genuinely good vibes for every guest. We serve all-day brunch in a stylish and welcoming environment and are looking for a friendly, energetic team member to join our front-of-house and barista team.
Role Overview
We are looking for someone who is confident both on the coffee machine and on the floor. The ideal candidate is personable, organised, able to work well under pressure and passionate about delivering excellent customer service while maintaining high coffee standards.
Key Responsibilities
Front of House
- Provide attentive and friendly customer service
- Take orders accurately using the POS system
- Serve food and drinks efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the café floor
- Handle customer questions and resolve issues professionally
- Help create a positive atmosphere for guests and the team
Barista Duties
- Prepare espresso-based drinks to a high standard
- Steam milk consistently and confidently
- Maintain coffee quality and consistency throughout service
- Dial in espresso and monitor extraction quality
- Keep the coffee station clean, organised and fully stocked
- Follow hygiene and food safety standards at all times
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a barista and front-of-house team member
- Strong communication and people skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced café environment
- Positive attitude and team-player mentality
- Attention to detail and cleanliness
- Flexibility to work weekends and busy shifts
- Passion for hospitality and specialty coffee
Preferred
- Experience with specialty coffee
- Latte art skills
- Experience working in busy brunch cafés
