About Purition
Purition is a growing health and wellness food brand based in Shrewsbury. We manufacture minimally processed, whole-food nutrition products and send orders directly to customers throughout the UK.
We care about product quality, food safety, customer service and doing things properly. We are looking for reliable people who want to build a long-term career as part of our team.
The role
We are recruiting full-time team members to work within either our food-production or e-commerce order-fulfilment team.
Depending on your experience and strengths, you may initially work mainly in production or order picking. Over time, you will be trained in different parts of the operation, giving you the opportunity to develop new skills, take on more responsibility and progress within the business.
This is a permanent, long-term position—not temporary or zero-hours work. However, flexibility is an important part of the role. Working times may vary according to production volumes and customer demand.
Production responsibilities may include
- Preparing and weighing ingredients accurately.
- Operating blending, filling and packing equipment.
- Packing, sealing, labelling and checking finished products.
- Completing production and traceability records.
- Following recipes, procedures and production instructions.
- Maintaining high food-safety, hygiene and allergen-control standards.
- Cleaning equipment and production areas thoroughly.
- Checking product quality and reporting problems promptly.
- Moving ingredients, packaging and finished products safely.
E-commerce responsibilities may include
- Picking customer orders accurately.
- Packing orders carefully and efficiently.
- Producing delivery labels and preparing parcels for collection.
- Checking products, quantities and addresses before dispatch.
- Replenishing stock in picking locations.
- Using order-management, inventory and delivery systems.
- Helping maintain accurate stock records.
- Keeping warehouse and packing areas clean, safe and organised.
- Supporting the team during busy periods.
About you
You do not need experience in every part of the role, as training will be provided. More important is that you are reliable, willing to learn and take pride in doing a job properly.
You should be:
- Reliable, punctual and looking for a long-term position.
- Positive, practical and willing to work as part of a team.
- Able to follow instructions and established procedures.
- Accurate and attentive to detail.
- Comfortable using computers or willing and able to learn.
- Willing to learn different tasks and support other departments.
- Comfortable with practical, active work and being on your feet.
- Able to work at a consistent pace without compromising quality.
- Committed to cleanliness, food safety and workplace safety.
- Available to work different hours when reasonably required, including early shifts, late shifts and occasional Saturdays.
Previous experience in food production, manufacturing, warehousing, order picking or e-commerce fulfilment would be helpful but is not essential.
Working hours and flexibility
This is a 37.5-hour-per-week position.
Our usual daytime working pattern is:
- Monday to Thursday: 8am–5pm
- Friday: normally 8am–12:30pm
The business must also maintain cover until 4:30pm on Fridays, so team members may be rostered to work later.
Depending on production volumes and customer demand, team members may also be asked to work:
- Early or late shifts.
- Different weekday start and finish times.
- Occasional Saturdays.
- Additional hours during particularly busy periods.
Wherever practical, advance notice will be provided. Applicants must have sufficient flexibility to support these working patterns when required.
Salary and progression
Salary is £27,500–£30,000 per year, depending on experience, skills and level of responsibility. This is equivalent to approximately £14.10–£15.38 per hour based on a 37.5-hour week.
We want people who are interested in staying and developing with the business. There will be opportunities to learn additional roles, take on greater responsibility and progress as Purition grows.
