We’re recruiting
WCA Disability Assessors in Watford, giving you the opportunity to use your clinical knowledge and professional judgement in a completely different way — without hands-on care or treatment.
You’ll assess how an individual’s health condition or disability affects their
functional ability and capacity to work, using your clinical expertise to produce accurate, evidence-based reports for the Department for Work and Pensions.

Use your clinical skills differently
No treatment, no hands-on care and no traditional ward pressures. Instead, you’ll use your assessment skills, clinical reasoning and professional judgement to make objective decisions.
Full training provided
You don’t need previous WCA or Disability Assessor experience. You’ll receive a comprehensive
12-week paid training programme, followed by ongoing clinical support and development.
What will you be doing?
- Conduct Work Capability Assessments via telephone and face-to-face appointments.
- Explore how health conditions and disabilities affect an individual's ability to carry out daily and work-related activities.
- Review medical evidence and information provided by claimants.
- Apply your clinical reasoning and professional judgement to each assessment.
- Produce clear, accurate and objective reports for the DWP.
- Ensure every assessment is completed to a high professional and clinical standard.

Who are we looking for?
We’re interested in hearing from
Registered Adult, Mental Health or Learning Disability Nurses, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists with at least
1 year of post-registration experience.
You’ll need to be confident communicating with people, comfortable writing detailed reports and able to use your clinical knowledge to make balanced, evidence-based assessments.
No previous assessor experience? No problem — full training is provided.
