We have an exciting opportunity for a SEND support worker to join our team at Sunshine Education Centre in September 2026. The position will be Monday to Friday, school term time only and we are looking for someone with experience and enthusiasm to join our provision and team.
Sunshine Education Centre is an alternative provision for KS2 & KS3 learners (Year 4 to 9). The learners we support may demonstrate barriers or challenges towards their education; some may be vulnerable and have an EHCP to define their additional needs or an EHCP in progress. Creativity, perseverance and an empathetic approach when working with them is key to engaging them in education and ensuring their progression.
We are inviting applicants to join our team and inspire our learners. Our learners need enhanced support to develop their language & literacy skills. Often, our learners require an empathetic, patient approach to their learning with enjoyable & accessible lessons.
This role will involve:
- Supporting the Head of Centre to ensure statutory SEND requirements are upheld (including individual learner needs) and overseeing all safeguarding needs
- Customising individually tailored lesson plans for individual learners to ensure high quality subject-based learning
- Understanding and supporting the challenges of our learners
- Motivating & inspiring our colleagues to engage & achieve
- Providing practical resources & strategies for colleagues to use & integrate into other lessons
- Partnership with parents, carers, and external agencies
- Helping to champion our school and the work of our learners & colleagues
The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of centre to lead on essential planning and pupil progress. Experience within SEND is essential as the role will include you being at the centre of inclusive learning.

Pay: £18,500.00-£20,000.00 per year
