MOT Tester
Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
Shift: Monday-Friday, 06:00-14:30 (40 hours per week)
Salary: £36,000 per annum
Contract: Full-Time, Temp to Perm
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Static MOT Tester to join a busy automotive workshop operation in Peterborough. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business and work alongside an experienced team within a modern workshop environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out MOT tests to DVSA standards while maintaining high levels of accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism.
The Role:
As a Static MOT Tester, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out MOT tests in line with DVSA standards and procedures
- Working within the DVSA framework and maintaining compliance at all times
- Planning and organising workloads to achieve efficiency targets
- Completing all relevant documentation accurately and in line with company procedures
- Reporting any issues or concerns to management promptly
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping within the workshop
- Working closely with the wider workshop team to support operational requirements
The Person:
- Qualified and VOSA-approved MOT Tester
- Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points for minor offences
- Previous experience working within an automotive workshop environment
- Good communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Competent using computer systems and workshop software
- Reliable, professional, and quality-focused approach to work
- Previous dealer experience is advantageous but not essential
- Experience working to productivity and efficiency targets
