Stuart Wells are a leading and experienced specialist groundwater engineering company undertaking groundwater control and borehole testing services, predominantly within the UK Civil Engineering industry.
The vacancy is a full-time role with responsibility for projects ranging from £20k- £4m. The position is based at our office in Shropham, Norfolk however there may be the occasional site visit to provide commercial support or attend accounts meetings with our clients across the UK.
Duties to include:
- Review contract terms and conditions and ensure compliance with subcontract agreements.
- Monitor progress of works and maintain records for accurate measurement of completed works.
- Identify variations to the contracted scope of works and submit early warning notices, compensation events and dispute resolutions.
- Prepare and submit monthly applications for payment on time.
- Negotiate and agree valuation with client’s QS or commercial managers.
- Monitor payment notices and produce corresponding VAT invoice.
- Monitor project costs against budget.
- Secure retention release payments.
- Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Work alongside technical team to prepare tender submissions.
- Preparation of BoQ’s and supporting pre-award activities.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities.
Essential Skills & Experience required:
- QS experience within the UK Construction Industry (minimum of 1 year).
- Knowledge and experience of JCT or NEC construction contracts and understanding of UK construction payment legislation.
- Attention to detail with excellent commercial, communication and IT skills.
- Working as a key member of the Operations team, with the ability to organise workload across multiple projects to meet deadlines.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Salary
· £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year depending on skill set and experience.
Working Hours
- Office: 08:00 to 17:00; Site (varies) 07:30 to 17:30
- Full time, Permanent.
