The Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team at our Kilmarnock site.
You will work from engineering drawings and technical documentation to carry out:
- Manufacture
- Installation
- Commissioning
- Fault diagnosis
…of hydraulic and mechanical systems, primarily for railway maintenance equipment.
This is a hands-on role where quality, safety, and attention to detail are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and assemble a range of railway maintenance equipment
- Dismantle, inspect, and assess equipment condition, providing reports where required
- Carry out fault finding on electromechanical systems
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings
- Assemble sub-components and sub-assemblies
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Troubleshoot and resolve engineering issues
- Maintain high standards of health & safety at all times
- Promote good housekeeping and an efficient working environment
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Maintain a strong customer-focused approach
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a mechanical fitting role
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience with hydraulic and/or electromechanical systems
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
- A proactive, team-oriented attitude
- Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
