Scenic Project Manager
Scenic Escape Ltd | Near St Neots, Cambridgeshire
£32,000 – £42,000 per annum, depending on experience
We build things people remember. We’re looking for someone who can make them happen.
Scenic Escape creates high-quality scenery, exhibition stands, experiential environments and bespoke event builds for clients across the live events industry.
We’re looking for an experienced Scenic Project Manager who can take ownership of projects from quoting stage to site — coordinating teams, solving problems and making sure every build is delivered to a high standard.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where no two projects are the same.
The role
You’ll be responsible for managing projects through production and installation, including:
- Taking the lead on projects on site
- Coordinating our in-house and freelance carpenters and crew
- Managing timelines, labour, materials and logistics
- Working closely with clients, designers, suppliers and production teams
- Reading drawings and understanding scenic construction
- Troubleshooting and making practical decisions when things change
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to the required standard
- Managing multiple projects and deadlines in a busy environment
Who we're looking for
You’ll have experience within the live events, scenic, exhibition, theatre, film/TV or related industry and understand the realities of delivering projects in a fast-moving environment.
We’re looking for someone who is:
Organised | Practical | Confident | Calm under pressure | Hands-on
You’ll need to be comfortable leading a team on site, communicating with clients and contractors, and getting stuck in when required.
A good understanding of scenic construction and carpentry, along with the ability to read technical drawings, is essential.
A full UK driving licence is required.
The practical bits
Salary: £32,000 – £42,000 depending on experience
Core hours: Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:00
Flexibility: This is the live events industry, so flexibility is essential. Working hours will vary depending on project and installation schedules, including early starts, late finishes and occasional weekends.
Travel: The role will involve UK and international travel, including working on site outside the UK when projects require it.
Why join Scenic Escape?
You’ll be part of a friendly, creative and practical team delivering stand-out scenic projects for the live events industry.
If you enjoy taking a brief, getting a team together and turning an idea into something impressive in the real world, we want to hear from you.
