Apparel Designer & Trend Researcher
4-Week Paid Contract – In Person, Wolverhampton
Are you creative, commercially minded and constantly noticing new fashion and apparel trends?
We’re International Insignia Ltd, a UK brand merchandising company creating apparel and merchandise for Zoo's, universities, museums, heritage attractions, visitor destinations and retailers.
We're looking for an Apparel Designer & Trend Researcher to join us for an initial 4-week project, helping us develop fresh ideas and collections for next years range.
What You'll Be Doing
- Researching current fashion, streetwear, retail and apparel trends
- Looking at brands, retailers and social media to identify emerging styles, graphics, typography, colours and garment trends
- Identifying ideas and trends that could work for our customers
- Turning inspiration into, commercially relevant apparel designs
- Creating graphics primarily for T-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts
- Selecting suitable garment styles and colours to make each design work as a complete product
- Creating mood boards, garment mock-ups and small coordinated collections
- Using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to develop and refine designs
- Using AI tools such as ChatGPT and image generation to research, experiment and accelerate the creative process
- Working with our sales team to develop new concepts for upcoming customer meetings
Who We're Looking For
- Strong interest in fashion, apparel, retail and current trends
- Good graphic design skills, particularly typography, colour and layout
- Confident using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Someone who actively searches for new ideas rather than waiting to be given them
- Good commercial judgement and an understanding of what people are likely to buy
- Able to take inspiration from current trends and turn it into something original
- Comfortable using, or keen to learn, AI creative tools
- Able to work quickly and explore different creative directions
- Experience in apparel, fashion, merchandise, print or retail design would be an advantage
Recent graduates with a strong portfolio and excellent trend awareness are encouraged to apply.
Details
- Duration: Initial 4-week paid temp contract
- Location: On-site at our Wolverhampton office, WV6 0PJ
- Flexible Hours: 22.5 to 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Working pattern: Part-time or full-time, depending on the successful candidate
- Start Date: ASAP
- Potential: Opportunity to extend the contract depending on performance and business requirements.

Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
