We are looking for a practical, enthusiastic person to join our workshop and warehouse team at Evergreen Direct.
This is a varied, hands on role for someone who enjoys making things, working with tools and learning practical skills. You will work alongside an experienced team producing, preparing and dispatching artificial planting for customers and projects across the UK.
Our work ranges from everyday customer orders through to large bespoke projects for luxury retailers, offices, hotels, television productions and prestigious private properties. Previous projects have included planting for Selfridges, Harrods, Google offices, Kensington Palace terraces and the Love Island set.
The role
You will be involved in all areas of our workshop and warehouse, including:
- Building and assembling artificial trees, hedges, green walls and planting displays
- Potting and finishing artificial trees and plants
- Preparing bespoke and commercial orders
- Picking, packing and preparing customer orders for dispatch
- Using hand and power tools for general workshop tasks
- Making and adapting timber planters, troughs and liners
- Receiving, organising and moving stock
- Loading and unloading deliveries
- Quality checking finished products before they leave us
- Helping keep the workshop organised, tidy and running efficiently
The role involves plenty of time on your feet, handling products and materials and some lifting, so you will need to be comfortable with the practical nature of the work.
About you
You do not need experience working with artificial plants. We can teach you that.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is practical and confident working with their hands
- Is keen to learn new skills from an experienced team
- Enjoys making, building and solving practical problems
- Is reliable, hardworking and willing to get stuck in
- Takes pride in producing work to a high standard
- Can work efficiently without compromising quality
- Is comfortable using tools or keen to learn
- Works well as part of a small team
- Is flexible and happy to turn their hand to different jobs as priorities change
Experience in joinery, landscaping, construction, manufacturing, warehousing, fitting or another practical environment would be useful, but attitude, reliability and practical ability are more important.

You will be joining a friendly, established family business where everyone plays an important part and there is plenty of opportunity to learn from skilled colleagues and develop your responsibilities.
