Hours: Guaranteed 45 hours | Mon–Fri Approx 6.30am to 4.30pm + Some Saturday Mornings
What You'll Be Doing
- Directing & Leading a Team of Waste Pickers
- Manual Sorting: Manually identifying and separating materials from a conveyor belt.
- Contamination Removal: Identifying and removing non-recyclable items or contamination from the waste stream.
- Safe Handling: Safely managing construction debris, including bulky items.
- Hazardous Material Identification: Identifying and safely handling or separating potentially hazardous waste.
- Housekeeping & Maintenance: Ensuring the conveyor belt and surrounding area are clean, tidy, and free of trip hazards.
- Production Targets: Working as part of a team to maintain a continuous, efficient workflow and meet production targets.

Essential Requirements
- Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for long periods, work in a fast-paced environment, and perform repetitive manual handling tasks whilst giving direction.
- Health and Safety Awareness: A strong commitment to following health and safety procedures (PPE).
- Experience: Previous experience in a waste management, recycling, or construction laboring environment is preferred, but not always required (full training is often provided).
- Attitude: Reliable, professional, and strongly committed to health and safety.
