Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Manager to join our team at Tiddlywinks Day Nursery. In this role, you will oversee HR functions, support staff development, and ensure compliance with childcare standards. Your contribution will help maintain our reputation for outstanding childcare and staff excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage recruitment and onboarding processes for all staff roles.
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management
- Implement strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Operational Responsibilities
- Develop and initiate HR strategies and initiatives
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in line with employment legislation and best practice.
- Manage the recruitment and selection process
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding and safer recruitment requirements for Early Years settings.
- Oversee employee relations, including handling grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Coordinate staff training and professional development programs.
- Have a strong knowledge and implement current Employment Law policies
- Support the managers with HR advise and administration
- Oversee a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
- Responsible for the overview of current HR systems – Bright HR, BLIP etc
- Payroll systems are being used in accordance with the company policy and procedure
- Ensure all GDPR and Data protection policy and procedures is implemented and reflected in practice
- Provide leadership that ensures managers and employees are equipped with best practice to foster a high-performance culture
- Monitor staff wellbeing and promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
Individual Accountability
- Support the managers with the company's Safer recruitment process
- Work within the margins of confidentially respecting the information pertaining to all employees
- Ensure clear and concise records are kept up to date and stored accordingly
- Identifying those practices that do not comply with the organisation and legal requirements and work with the Senior Leadership team to agree on an action plan to resolve issues
- Managing own time to complete tasks effectively, prioritising workload.
- Make recommendations for the future development of the company and improve HR systems
- To travel to prepare for, attend and contribute to relevant meetings including Business, finance etc
- Maintain any equipment e.g. laptop, phone in the condition it was supplied

Pay: £42,000.00-£45,000.00 per year

- Bury BL9 0TB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:
- CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent) – in HR Management : 1 year (required)
