We are a growing electrical wholesale business looking for an experienced Internal Sales / Trade Counter person to join our team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who already understands the electrical wholesale industry and is confident dealing with electricians, contractors, trade customers and suppliers.
You will be involved in serving customers, handling enquiries, processing orders, preparing quotes, checking stock, sourcing products and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the branch.
Important – Electrical Wholesale Experience Required
Please only apply if you have previous experience working within an electrical wholesaler or electrical supplies environment.
This role requires someone who already understands electrical wholesale, trade customers, electricians, contractors, product enquiries, quotes, stock checks and counter/internal sales.
Applications from candidates with only general retail, hospitality, warehouse, call centre or unrelated sales experience will not be suitable for this position.
We are specifically looking for someone with relevant electrical wholesale experience who can contribute from an early stage.
Main Duties:
- Serving electricians, contractors and trade customers at the counter
- Handling customer enquiries face to face, over the phone and by email
- Processing sales orders, quotations, payments and customer collections
- Following up quotes and helping convert enquiries into sales
- Checking stock availability and offering suitable alternatives
- Sourcing products from suppliers where required
- Preparing customer orders accurately for collection or delivery
- Building strong relationships with regular trade customers
- Supporting repeat business and helping grow local trade sales
- Assisting with goods in, stock control, returns and general branch duties
- Keeping the trade counter clean, organised and professionally presented
- Using computer systems to process orders, invoices and stock checks
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the branch
- Opening and closing the branch when required
What We Are Looking For
- Previous electrical wholesale experience is required
- Good electrical product knowledge is required
- Experience dealing with electricians, contractors and trade customers is required
- Trade counter or internal sales experience is strongly preferred
- Confident preparing quotes, processing orders and following up enquiries
- Comfortable speaking with suppliers and sourcing products when needed
- Reliable, punctual and organised
- Able to work independently and use initiative
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Sales-focused with a positive and helpful attitude
- Comfortable using order systems, stock systems and basic computer software
A full UK driving licence is preferred, as the role may involve occasional customer or supplier visits
