Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring that meal preparation and food safety standards are met. We are also looking for someone flexable and willing to work on the front of house as well.
Responsibilities
- Assist in meal preparation and food preparation tasks, ensuring all ingredients are ready for cooking.
- Support catering services by preparing dishes according to specific menus and dietary requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing utensils, pots, and pans.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food is stored and handled correctly.
- Help cooks with various tasks as needed, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and assembling dishes.
- Ensure that kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained properly after use.
- Assist in inventory management by reporting low stock levels of ingredients or supplies.
Skills
- Experience in meal preparation and food preparation is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with catering operations and restaurant environments will be an advantage.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and practices is essential.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when required.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all tasks performed.
- A passion for culinary arts and a willingness to learn new techniques and recipes.
