We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and inspiring Wraparound Childcare Venue Manager to lead the daily operations of our thriving childcare provision. As Venue Manager, you will play a pivotal role in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging setting where children can thrive before and after school. You will oversee all aspects of the provision, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, operational excellence, and family engagement. This role is ideal for a confident leader who combines strong organisational skills with a genuine passion for supporting children's development and delivering outstanding experiences for families.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, inspire, and support a team of childcare practitioners, fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing culture.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop staff to ensure exceptional standards of care and professional practice.
- Conduct regular supervision, performance reviews, and ongoing coaching to support individual and team growth.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safeguarding, and child-centred practice throughout the setting.
Operational Management
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the wraparound childcare provision, ensuring smooth, efficient, and effective operations.
- Manage staffing levels, rotas, resources, and programme delivery to meet the needs of children and families.
- Ensure all policies, procedures, and operational standards are consistently implemented and maintained.
- Monitor occupancy, attendance, and service quality to support the continued success and growth of the provision.
Childcare & Programme Delivery
- Create and maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and stimulating environment where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
- Plan and oversee a diverse range of age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, physical wellbeing, and social development.
- Ensure children’s individual needs are understood and supported through high-quality care and positive relationships.
- Champion children's wellbeing, happiness, and safety at all times.
Family & Community Engagement
- Build strong, trusting relationships with parents, carers, and families, acting as a key point of contact for enquiries and support.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring families feel informed, valued, and confident in the care provided.
- Respond professionally and proactively to feedback, questions, and concerns.
- Develop partnerships with schools, local organisations, and community groups to enhance opportunities and experiences for children.
Compliance & Safeguarding
- Ensure full compliance with safeguarding requirements, health and safety legislation, and relevant regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate records, reporting systems, and administrative processes.
- Lead on risk assessments, incident management, and safeguarding procedures, ensuring the highest levels of child protection and welfare.
- Keep up to date with sector developments, best practice guidance, and regulatory requirements.

- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm, approachable, and professional manner.
- Sound understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, health and safety requirements, and childcare best practices.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach to problem-solving and operational management.
