Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 3 Qualified Nursery Practitioner to join our early childhood education team at Well Place Day Nursery. We are a private nursery that is situated within the grounds of Penshurst Place Estate with private off road parking for staff. Our nursery utilises the grounds daily with our woodland area on site, walks in the surrounding areas and outdoor play area, so a passion for outdoors is desirable.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and education to children, supporting their development in a safe and nurturing environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your experience while working closely with children to promote their learning and well-being. The position is paid and requires a commitment to fostering a positive learning atmosphere aligned with early childhood education standards.
Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging educational activities tailored to the developmental needs of children.
- Support children's emotional, social, and physical development through nurturing interactions.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment that complies with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and carers to ensure consistent care and support for each child's individual needs.
- Lead small groups of children during activities, ensuring inclusive participation and engagement.
- Monitor children's progress and keep accurate records of their development milestones.
- Assist in organising daily routines such as mealtimes, playtimes, and rest periods.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of nursery practices through reflective practice and professional development.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with children in early childhood environments.
- Strong understanding of childcare principles, early childhood education frameworks, and developmental milestones.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating initiative and independence.
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transportation as the nursery is not accessible through public transport.
- Organised, reliable, with a passion for supporting children's growth and learning through innovative approaches.
Hours
- 36 Hours Per Week over 4 days with a set day off per week
Pay: £13.20-£14.80 per hour
